I bumped into a MMA forum few days ago. And there was a thread which they are complaining that the media doesn’t recognized the sport. I think they’re still arguing until this time. But, let’s get out from that box. MMA not recognized by the media? I think not, maybe some local media do. Anyway, they have their reasons. And that reasons we can’t argue. Let us just leave them if they don’t like it. Anyways, we have Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and etc. or simply the web.
Like other post MMA is a trending sport that was practiced by many. MMA in London gyms were booming like mushrooms. And those schools offer a variety of Martial Art skills like Kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and etc. These are the most popular Martial Arts which they mixed to form what they called there style. But, the reality is, the attributes is simple just survive and be Practical.
I remember those days where my friends and I were practicing for our strategies for the upcoming competition. And, we came for fancy trick of attacks but none of them were executed during each of our match. It just like we have wasted our time during practice planning for nothing. The lesson learned? Just go back to the basic and you will see it is more effective.
What I meant to say, is that Martial Arts shouldn’t be that so complicated. If you’re going into enroll in a self defence classes in London, first the instructor is going to teach you the most important skills and that going to be the basic. Those are basic Punching, Kicking, Blocking, Parrying, Foot work, and especially being patient. Even how long you have trained in that kind of gym the basic always the most effective. After that is the basic offensive and defensive combinations plan. And the most important lesson we will learn is not use this skills on the street. It is much better to avoid a fight rather looking for one. Practicing Martial Arts is not you just have to learn to fight, but also to accept the discipline.
By the way, Martial Art is not just a trending sport but is also fitness exercises were participated by many. Men, women, and children practices martial arts for being fit and healthy as well as self defence. But, there be always an Irony in Martial Arts. A Yin and Yang, you could apply your skills either from being good or bad.
